Small Things to be Thankful for

I am just going to keep this short winded. Reo and I are so touched by the amount of support all of you guys have given us in the past week. We are so thankful to have friends like you in our corner.
Lots of positives to be thankful for. Our calves were sold on Thursday in Sheridan. We are very pleased with the price we got for them. In election years we are never sure of what our fate may be when we sit in that convention room. But thank goodness Hugh puts so much pride and effort into the selection of the bulls and the cattle in general. All the programs that the calves are enrolled in seemed to be a huge benefit for us.
It is crazy to think that we are just a few short weeks from shipping our calves and starting over again.
With that being said, I would like to take a moment and say how fortunate we are that the devastating fires that went rampant through our county didn’t reach us. Our hearts break for the ranches that really weren’t that far away from us that got literally devastated by the fires. No grass for their cows for the year. All their fences burnt and gone. Not sure if their calves and cows are even alive. Having to scratch their calves from the sale because they didn’t know where they were or if they were still alive. It’s easy to lose yourself in a “poor me” attitude. But if you just take a look around you will see that there are people out there that, have it far worse than you do.
I want to end this little ditty saying. Never judge a book by its cover. Be a good neighbor and be kind to everyone around you.
Thank you everyone for the kind words and prayers during this. Reo and I really do appreciate it, and we love you guys.
