While I have been dabbling in the art of sourdough. I can't help but think about my home economics teacher in high school. Miss Ott was one of a kind that is for sure. Growing up in a small town every body thought they knew everything about every body. The roumor on the street was that Miss Ott was a nun in her passed life. Which really I dont know if that is true or not. All I know is that she was a really amazing human. I grew up in a tiny little catholic parish in this little town. Miss Ott was there every Sunday. She was always so sweet and genuine. I am surprised that she didn't go home and drink herself silly dealing with all of the teenagers that she did on a daily basis. This sweet lady has sadly passed on but I know for sure that God was welcoming her with open arms. She was a wonderful servant to the community, the lord, and a pretty wonderful person as well.

With that long winded story over. Back to my original post here. I have really enjoyed expiermenting with the sourdough. Its so funny because when I told Reo we needed to name our starter he came up with the name Ron. For anybody that knows me. My grandpa's name was Ron. I just thought that this was so funny because my grandpa would've thought that that was the most hilarious thing in the whole world if we could've told him about that.

Ron is very well taken care of in this house. I have mastered the art of sourdough chocolate chip cookies. Which if I do say so myself are top notch! :) I was always the kind of person that if there was a recipe to follow I could cook it!

My father in law has helped me a bunch in perfecting my sourdough loaf. He has been the driving force behind keeping me on track with it. The funny thing about it is that I realized that I dont really like sourdough bread. Thank goodness Reo will eat anything! Haha! I always wonder what Miss Ott would do. How would she tell me to bake the bread. How would she tell me to proof the bread. Its so funny that she is in the back of my mind even 14 years later.

I strive to really do the best I can in anything that I set my mind to. Sourdough is one of those things that I will continue to grow and get better at. Also, never feeling too proud to ask for help. If you take anything away from this post its not to be too proud to ask for help and that you can make anything if you have a good recipe.
